Assessments are tools to help you plan your future. There are no right or wrong answers. Assessments help students and alumni gain an understanding of themselves and others in order to increase their effectiveness at school, home, and work. All assessments are available through Career Services. Would you like to learn more about yourself? The following assessments are available by calling 716-839-8334 or by emailing careerservices@daemen.edu:
Focus: Answer questions about the type of work you might enjoy. Your responses will be matched in the national data base with others whose career choices match your interests and training.
Who: Any student or alumni wanting to learn more about matching their interests with career options.
Cost: No cost.
Time: 15 minutes and then a 45 minute debrief.
Where: Can be taken online at any computer, in the Career Services Office or in your home.
Then what? Career Services will review results with you and help you create an action plan based upon the results.
Focus: The Strong Interest Inventory® assessment is one of the world’s most widely respected and frequently used career planning tools. It has guided thousands of college students as well as midcareer alumni seeking a change in their search for a rich and fulfilling career.
Who: Any 2nd-4th year student, graduate student or alumni.
Cost: No cost to student, fee paid by Career Services.
Time: 20 minutes.
Where: Career Services will give you a code to take the assessment.
Then what? Make a separate appointment with a Career Services Advisor to review the results and create an action plan.
Focus: To help a student identify, challenge, and alter negative career thoughts that interfere with effective career decision making.
Who: Any student having trouble deciding on a major or changing after their major.
Time: 15 minutes.
Where: Taken in Career Services Office.
Cost: No cost to student, fee paid by Career Services.
Then what? Make a separate appointment to have Career Services review results with you and help you create an action plan based upon the results.
Focus: Clifton StrengthsFinder is the assessment utilized by StrengthsQuest to identify your top five talent themes. By taking this assessment you will gain insight into how to utilize your talents to achieve academic and career success.
Who: Any student, graduate student or alumni.
Cost: No cost to the student, the fee paid by Career Services.
Time: 30 minutes.
Where: Career Services will give you a code to take the assessment.
Then what? Make a separate appointment with a Career Services Advisor to review the results and create an action plan.
