Why Diversity Matters in Healthcare

September 24 | noon - 1:30 p.m. EST
Panel Discussion Virtual Event Via YouTube

Now more than ever, the role of healthcare professionals is crucial to our communities. That's why the presence of medical professionals who represent our diverse society is key to improving patient access and delivery of culturally competent patient care. An increasingly diverse population requires representation, delivery of quality care, and professionals who understand and embrace the importance of diversity and inclusion in their work.

In the third installment of our virtual panel series, °®½´ÊÓƵ College will explore why diversity matters in healthcare. Opportunities are present for all of us to grow in self-awareness of the implicit biases we all possess, especially now in an increasingly diverse world.  We’ll explore together pathways to increased awareness and best practices, and how continuing education and intergenerational learning is an important factor in understanding and improving patient care. We'll look to understand how exploration can lead to increased awareness and best practices, and how continuing education and intergenerational learning is an important factor in understanding patient care. As the premier health sciences educator, we'll also look at how °®½´ÊÓƵ's Center for Interprofessional Learning and Simulation (CILS) will provide professional space and a dedicated platform for interprofessional learning and growth.

Sponsored by graduate programs at °®½´ÊÓƵ College, listen in on this virtual event and join healthcare advocates and professionals as they share ways their experience has shaped their careers and how their voice has made a difference.
