Program Benefits

  • °®½´ÊÓƵ offers the only ABA-approved Paralegal Studies program in Western New York.
  • The American Bar Association, the same body that accredits law schools, granted approval to our paralegal studies program, making it one of two ABA approved programs in Western New York.
  • °®½´ÊÓƵ students perform legal research on premier databases like Westlaw Edge.
  • Students are taught by the Socratic Method, similar to the law school classroom. Experienced attorneys and instructors act as mentors to students and assist with career preparation and job placement.
  • Internships involve substantive legal work and our paralegal clinic allows students to work in family or housing court.
  • Students visit the Buffalo City Court, New York State Supreme Court, and U.S. District Court.
  • Students shadow attorneys and paralegals and network with the local legal community.
  • Majors learn legal reasoning and legal argument and apply this knowledge when writing a variety of legal documents, culminating in a senior thesis project.
  • Scholarship opportunities are available through the Western New York Paralegal Association and the Lambda Epsilon Chi Honor Society.
